Abstract of the Disclosure A radial mandrel is provided having a plurality of alternatlng and interfitting large and small segments mounted on a pair of cones, which cones are movable axially toward and away from one another to in turn move the segments radially inwardly and outwardly between a contracted and expanded position. The radial mandrel includes an improved mechanism for axially moving the cones comprising a quill adapter and scroll sleeve adapted for use with a drive shaft of standard config- uration. The scroll sleeve is formed with spiral grooves which engage the cones and are operable to move the cones axially toward and away from one another as the scroll sleeve is rotated.
