The preparation consists of a radio opaque substance, a carrier and gas in sufficient concentration to cause release of the gas when the preparation is ingested by a patient. The preparation enables small lesions such as shallow, flat or surface ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract to be detected during radiological examination.
