RADIANT FUSER FOR DUPLEX COPIES ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A radiant fuser for fixing toner images to substrate material wherein the substrate material is supported by a heated platen as the support material moves thereover and a radiant source of energy is disposed opposite the platen for elevating the temperature of the toner forming the images on the substrate material. The radiant fuser is characterized by the provision of means for coating the platen with a release material, preferably one which interacts with the platen surface to form a toner impen- etrable layer on which a film of the release material is disposed for minimizing the offsetting of toner material to the platen during a duplex fusing (i. e. images on both sides of the support material are fused) operation.
