A radiant heating system (100) and a method of operating the same is provided, the system utilizing an electrolytic heating subsystem (103). The electrolytic heating subsystem is a pulsed electrolysis system that, during operation, heats the medium (107) contained within the electrolysis tank (109). The heated medium is circulated through a heat exchanger (105) coupled to the electrolysis tank via a first conduit (113), thereby heating the heat exchanger. A heat transfer medium is circulated through the radiant heat tubing (101) and the heat exchanger via a second conduit (115). As the heat transfer medium is circulated through the heat exchanger it becomes heated, the absorbed heat then being radiated by the radiant heat tubing. In at least one embodiment, the system includes multiple and distinct sections of radiant heat tubing which are either serially (201-203) or independently (301-303) coupled to the electrolytic heating subsystem.
