2095041 9209856 PCTABS00013 A collector and concentrator system for electromagnetic radiation, for example solar energy includes a primary reflector (25) defined by a generally cylindrical body formed in two halves with each half being the involute of a circle so as to define a rectangular opening for incident radiation. The primary reflector is maintained stationary. Within a cylindrical housing at the centre of the primary reflector is mounted a secondary reflector (35) which is generally conical in shape so as to reflect the incident radiation from the primary reflector in a direction parallel to the axis of the cylindrical housing. A third reflector (36) is of concave part spherical shape so as to reflect the axial radiation toward a focus of the third reflector for collection. The conical exterior surface of the secondary reflector is modified by a pair of outwardly projecting wing portions and the axis of the secondary reflector is movable about a centre point lying on the central axis of the device to allow tracking of the source of the radiation for example the sun.
