There is disclosed a radiation detection apparatus having a hand-held radiation detection probe connected by a cable to a remote control unit for controlling functions of the operation of the apparatus, the present invention provides for the inclusion in such apparatus of a movable stand having a holder for releasably mounting said probe on said stand.
