A radiation detection apparatus (10) having a handheld radiation detection probe (50) with a switch assembly (70) removably mounted thereon. The switch assembly has first and second switches, one switch (72) to initiate transmission of electrical signals representing scintillations detected over a set time period to a remotely located control unit (100) for counting and averaging, and the other switch (74) to direct the control unit to download and preferably record the counted and averaged scintillation values for further use.

L'invention se rapporte à un dispositif de détection de rayonnements (10) comportant une sonde à main (50) de détection des rayonnements, sur laquelle est montée de manière amovible un ensemble commutateur (70). Ce dernier comporte un premier et un second élément commutateur, le premier (72) de ces éléments étant conçu pour déclencher l'émission de signaux électriques représentant des scintillations détectées au cours d'un laps de temps préétabli à destination d'une unité de commande télécommandée (100) conçue pour compter et moyenner, et le second (74) étant conçu pour ordonner à l'unité de commande de télécharger et de préférence enregistrer les valeurs de scintillation comptées et moyennées en vue d'une utilisation ultérieure.
