21-11-1978 1 PHN 9071 ABSTRACT: "Radiation detection device". In order to reduce the loss of scintillation radiation which laterally emerges in radiation detector devices comprising a scintillation element, the appro- priate surfaces of the scintillation element and any sub- sequent light conductors are provided with a suitably re- flective and properly adhesive cover layer. Using a diluted acrylic varnish which incorporates BaSO4, a cover layer having favourable adhesive properties can be obtained, the occurrence of loose paint particles in the device also being prevented.
