ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a monitor for controlling the dose of applied radiation to, for example a patient. The monitor is comprised of a dose rate frequency changer which is connected to a pulse counter. The counter is connected to a comparator which is activated to control an off-switch for the radiation when the pulse count reaches a predetermined count. A second pulse counter is connected to the changer. This counter operates when the radiation is off. As a result any count obtained is a result of component drift in the radiation detector and the changer. The count is converted to an analog signal, inverted and fed back to the input of the changer to compensate for the above-mentioned drift. Once this drift has been stabilized by the feedback loop the radiation is turned on and control of the dosage is handled by the first mentioned counter comparator and off-switch.
