A radiation protection system (10) around a patient (12) on an x-ray table (14) includes a radiation protection wall (20) with an opening around the x- ray table (14), a radiation screen (22) over the patient, and a flexible interface (24) joining the cubicle (100) and the x-ray table (14). The wall (20) shields medical personnel in an operating region (16) from most radiation output by an x-ray emitter. The radiation screen (22) is attached to the x-ray table (14) such that it can be retracted to the foot of the x-ray table (14) and extended over the patient (12) such that it is interposed between the patient (12) and the medical personnel. The interface (24) has flexible joints (38) attached to the wall (20) and a flexible radiation-resistant skirt (40) that joins the wall (20) to the screen (22) and covers the opening (26) in the wall. An access port (46) may be formed in the screen, and a shielding cloak (48) can cover the access port (46) to surround medical instruments that are threaded through the port (46) and inserted into the patient.

La paroi blindée (20) protège le personnel médical se trouvant dans la zone de fonctionnement (16), de la plupart des rayonnements produits par un émetteur de rayons X.
