The present invention is a bioimplantable device for adjusting the position of and/or shielding selected tissues of a human body during radiation therapy. The device includes a selectively inflatable hollow structure formed from a biocompatible material, an inflation port in communication with the hollow structure effective to communicate an inflation material to within the hollow structure and at least one tissue fixation element disposed on the hollow structure. In another embodiment, the device is a multi-layer structure which can be implanted to block radiation and/or displace tissues from the path of the radiation.
L'invention concerne un dispositif bio-implantable, destiné à régler la position de tissus choisis d'un corps humain, et/ou à constituer un écran pour ces tissus, lors d'une radiothérapie. Ce dispositif comprend une structure creuse, gonflable de manière sélective, formée dans un matériau biocompatible, un orifice de gonflage communiquant avec la structure creuse et efficace pour transférer une substance de gonflage dans la structure creuse, ainsi qu'au moins un élément de fixation sur un tissu, disposé sur la structure creuse. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, ce dispositif se compose d'une structure multicouche, que l'on peut implanter pour bloquer les rayons et/ou déplacer des tissus hors du trajet des rayons.
