ABSTRACT A radiation transducer has an array of elements sensitive to radiation and comparator elements connected to the radiation sensitive elements, for comparing the amount of radiation received by a radiation sensitive element with a predetermined threshold value, An encoding element is connected to each comparator element for producing a digital representation of the element on which radiation is incident and a measuring element is connected to the radiation sensitive elements for determining the amount of radiation incident on the corresponding element during a predetermined time period.
