A waveguide feed structure having a coaxial transmission line. A conductive, planar septum is disposed in, and along a diameter of, the transmission line. A feed port is electrically coupled to the transmission line. The septum has a rear portion disposed proximate the feed port, such rear portion of the septum extending between the inner conductor and the outer conductor. The feed port and the rear portion of the septum are arranged to establish an electric field in the transmission line between the inner conductor and the outer conductor with a component substantially TELL? mode along a direction perpendicular to the planar septum. A forward portion of the septum is asymmetrically disposed with respect to said diameter in order to provide a gap between the inner conductor and the outer conductor, such gap establishing an electric field component within the transmission line having a TELL? component along said diameter of the transmission line parallel to the plane of the septum.

L'invention concerne une structure d'alimentation guide d'onde comportant une ligne de transmission coaxiale. Une cloison planaire conductrice est placée sur la ligne de transmission, le long du rayon de celle-ci. Un port d'alimentation est couplé électriquement à la ligne de transmission. La cloison présente une partie arrière placée à proximité du port d'alimentation, cette partie arrière s'étendant entre le conducteur interne et le conducteur externe. Le port d'alimentation et la partie arrière de la cloison sont conçus pour établir un champ électrique dans la ligne de transmission, entre le conducteur interne et le conducteur externe, au moyen d'un composant de mode sensiblement TE>11<, dans une direction perpendiculaire à la cloison planaire. La partie avant de la cloison est placée asymétriquement par rapport audit diamètre pour former un espace entre le conducteur interne et le conducteur externe, lequel espace forme un composant de champ électrique dans la ligne de transmission présentant un composant TE>11<, le long dudit diamètre de la ligne de transmission, parallèlement au plan de la cloison.
