A wireless communications device with low magnetic field emission is provided by disposing a magnetically absorptive material near the base of an antenna of a handset of the device. The magnetically absorptive material is preferably a ferrite-type metal oxide dispersed within a silicone rubber medium. The ferrite-type metal oxide acts to attenuate the magnetic field generated in the near field of the antenna. Interference with hearing aids worn by wireless communications device users is thereby reduced.

Absorbant magnétique disposé près de la base d'une antenne de combiné de dispositif de communication sans fil et atténuant le champ magnétique à proximité de ce dispositif. L'absorbant magnétique est, de préférence, un oxyde métallique ferritique dispersé dans un support en caoutchouc de silicone. L'oxyde métallique ferritique sert à atténuer le champ magnétique généré dans le champ proche de l'antenne. Cela réduit le brouillage des prothèses auditives que portent des utilisateurs du dispositif de communication sans fil.
