An enhanced identification tag for producing an identification (ID) signal, i.e., a radio frequency (RF) signal carrying identification information, capable of being interpreted by an electronic reader device. An identification tag in accordance with the invention is characterized by a flexible substrate, programmable encoder circuitry formed on said substrate defining identification information, an antenna, and signal generator circuitry carried by said substrate responsive to said encoder circuitry for applying a radio frequency signal bearing said identification information to said antenna. A preferred tag is fabricated using a printing process to mark a conductive pattern, e.g., comprised of a conductive ink based on silver, carbon, etc., on a flexible substrate, e.g., polytethyline, polyvinyl chloride or other plastic type material. In a typical application, the flexible substrate is then preferably used to form a wrist band that can be used to identify an individual to permit, deny or otherwise determine the level of access to an area, e.g., a concert, a work area or other restricted environment.
L'invention concerne une étiquette d'identification améliorée permettant d'identifier un signal d'identification (ID), c'est-à-dire un signal radiofréquence (RF) qui achemine des données d'identification susceptibles d'être interprétées par un dispositif à lecteur électronique. L'étiquette d'identification se présente sous la forme d'un substrat flexible, sur lequel est formé un circuit de codage programmable définissant les données d'identification, avec une antenne, laquelle reçoit un signal RF acheminant les données d'identification, ce signal provenant d'un générateur de signaux également monté sur le substrat et réagissant au circuit de codage. De préférence, l'étiquette est fabriquée suivant un procédé d'impression qui consiste à marquer un réseau de conducteurs (par exemple, à base de pâte conductrice sur de l'argent, du carbone, etc.) à la surface d'un substrat flexible (par exemple, polyéthylène, chlorure de polyvinyle ou matériau du type plastique). Dans une application type, on utilise ensuite de préférence le substrat pour former un bracelet de poignet susceptible d'être utilisé pour identifier un individu, de manière à autoriser, interdire ou déterminer un degré d'accès à une zone (par exemple, pour un concert, une zone de travail ou autre espace à accès restreint).
