CA 2100680

2100680 9213283 PCTABS00014 A radio frequency volume resonator mounted on a dielectric support (40) can be operated in quadrature at one or more NMR frequencies. The resonator consists of four axially distributed high frequency ring current paths (59, 56, 58, 60) on the dielectric support (40), at least four high frequency current paths (52, 50, 54) interconnect each of adjacent ring paths (59, 56, 58, 60). The ring segments with interconnecting segments form loops at least one discrete capacitor (e.g., 62, 66, 64) is placed in each current loop, but such that none of the ring segments is interrupted with the capacitor.
