ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel myocardial imaging agents, i.e., radio- iodinated 15-(4-iodophenyl)-9-methylpentadecanoic acid and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The acids have a methyl or ethyl group on one of the backbone car- bons that does not occupy position 1-3. Preferred acids include 15-(4-iodophenyl)-9-methylpentadecanoic acid (IMPA), 15-(4-iodophenyl)-5-methylpentadecanoic acid (IMPA-2), and 15-(4-iodophenyl)-10-methylpentadecanoic acid (IMPA-3).
