2065362 9102547 PCTABS00003 Scintigraphic detection thrombi in mammals can be effected by injecting a solution of a radio-labelled agent which can be a material from a reconstituted lyophilised kit and then labelled e.g. with technetium-99m. The agent is produced from a starting material from the group consisting of proteinaceous materials, monoclonal antibodies, single domain antibodies or an epitope binding fragment of monoclonal antibodies or single domain antibodies. The starting material is selected as one specifically directed against the blood clots and thiolating is effected for example with DL N-Acetylhomocystein-thiolactone.
