A method of registration in a telecommunications system by a mobile station, which system comprises a home location register (HLR) for maintaining subscriber data and supports a first network, such as GSM, and a second network, such as GPRS. The home location register (HLR) maintains the mobile subscriber data and a message (2-6a, 4-3) is sent to the home location register (HLR) for requesting the mobile subscriber data. According to the invention, the home location register (HLR) maintains an access parameter (PARAM) which indicates whether the mobile subscriber is entitled to use the first network, the second network or both networks. In response to said message for requesting the subscriber data, the home location register sends the mobile subscriber data and also said access parameter. The network element that requested the mobile subscriber data uses said access parameter for restricting the access of the mobile subscriber only to a circuit-switched network and/or to a packet-switched network.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'enregistrement par une station mobile dans un système de télécommunications. Ce système, qui comporte un enregistreur de position de rattachement (HLR) permettant de tenir à jour des données se rapportant aux abonnés, gère un premier réseau, notamment GSM, et un second réseau, notamment GPRS. L'enregistreur HLR tient à jour les données "abonnés mobiles". Un message (2-6a, 4-3) est envoyé à l'enregistreur HLR pour demander les données "abonnés mobiles". Selon l'invention, l'enregistreur HLR tient à jour un paramètre d'accès (PARAM) indiquant si l'abonné mobile est autorisé à utiliser le premier réseau, le second réseau, ou les deux. En réponse à ce message demandant les données se rapportant aux abonnés, l'enregistreur HLR envoie les données "abonnés mobiles", ainsi que ledit paramètre d'accès. L'élément réseau ayant demandé les données "abonnés mobiles" utilise ce paramètre d'accès afin de limiter l'accès de l'abonné mobile uniquement à un réseau à commutation de circuits et/ou à un réseau à commutation par paquets.
