A radio comprising an FET mixing device for multiplying a first-frequency signal with a second frequency signal to generate a third frequency analog mixer output signal. A local oscillator input port receivers a periodic sinusoidal local oscillator signal at a local oscillator frequency from an external local oscillator source. A drive circuit generates a substantially square-wave two-voltage level switching signal for driving said mixing device. An analog-to-digital converter generates a digital representation ofsaid third frequency analog mixer output signal.

L'invention concerne une radio comprenant un dispositif de mélange à transistor à effet de champ permettant de multiplier un premier signal de fréquence par un second signal de fréquence pour obtenir un troisième signal de fréquence de sortie d'un mélangeur analogique. Un port d'entrée d'un oscillateur local reçoit d'une source extérieure d'oscillateur local un signal sinusoïdal périodique d'oscillateur local à une fréquence d'oscillateur local. Un circuit de commande produit un signal de commutation à deux niveaux de tension sensiblement carré pour commander ledit dispositif de mélange. Un convertisseur analogique-numérique génère une représentation numérique dudit troisième signal de fréquence de sortie d'un mélangeur analogique.
