RADIO TELECOMMUNICATION APPARATUS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A radio telecommunication apparatus comprises a control for controlling a power supply so that power is supplied to a modulator in response to a request to transmit signals. Furthermore signals to be transmitted are not applied to the modulator until the modulator has been locked to an appropriate frequency. Also, an amplifier for ampli- fying an output signal of the modulator is not supplied power until the modulator has been substantially locked to an appropriate frequency.
