RADIO TELECOMMUNICATION APPARATUS WITH AUDIBLE INDICATION OF CHANNEL AVAILABILITY ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A radio telecommunication apparatus is used in a radio tele- communication system wherein one or more base units broadcast radio signals over a plurality of radio channels. The apparatus detects the availability of one or more radio channels and provides an indica- tion representing an operability of the apparatus in response to a change of the detected availability. Still, the apparatus provides an indication to a user in response to a user's request input or call origi- nation operation. Furthermore, the indication may represent a sys- tem serving the apparatus in response to a received system identifica- tion signal.
