ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Electronic devices incorporating alpha, beta or gamma emitters are considerably reduced in size, rendered more easy to manufacture and cheaper by the utilization of printed circuitry, an integral portion of which is radioactive. The radioactive material may be incorporated by electroplating, electroless plating, vacuum deposition, etc. Associated electronic components can be mounted on the printed circuit board. The invention has particular utility in the production of smoke detectors.
