This is a powered apparatus designed for radially turning lumber; but can be adapted to turn, lift or hold other objects on unlugged conveying systems. Because of its location (below conveying system) it is unobstructive; and, in case of malfunction or when not used, allows production to continue uninterrupted. It is powered by either an electronically controlled pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder, transferring power through a radiused arm to a sprocket attached to the turner. The programming of the electronic control, along with the shape, and positioning of the turner allows for flexibility in straightening, lifting, holding, turning and repositioning of the piece on the conveying system.
L'invention porte sur un appareil entraîné conçu pour tourner radialement du bois débité, mais pouvant être adapté pour tourner, soulever ou tenir d'autres objets sur des transporteurs sans chaîne à ergots. En raison de son emplacement (sous le transporteur), l'appareil ne constitue pas un obstacle. De plus, en cas de panne ou lorsqu'il n'est pas utilisé, il ne stoppe pas la production. Il est entraîné par un cylindre pneumatique ou hydraulique commandé électroniquement et transfère, au moyen d'un bras pivotant, l'alimentation à une roue dentée fixée à l'appareil de tournage. La programmation de la commande électronique ainsi que la forme et le positionnement de l'appareil de tournage permettent une souplesse dans le redressement, le soulèvement, la tenue et le repositionnement de l'article sur le transporteur.
