A rail cap for spanning a gap between two longitudinally adjacent rail sections. The rail cap includes a downwardly opening channel member mountable over the top of the rail sections across the gap. A lower clamping member is insertable beneath each rail section and securable by securing means to the channel member. Lateral locating means are provided for preventing the channel from moving toward the inside of the track. Longitudinal locating means are provided which interact with the channel member and the ends of the gap between the rail sections to prevent longitudinal movement of the rail cap. A guide block is provided along an outer leg of the channel member to guide an inner flange of a wheel away from an inner leg of the channel member.

Pièce de jointoiement de rails servant à combler l'espace entre deux sections de rail longitudinales adjacentes. Cette pièce comporte un canal s'ouvrant vers le bas qui peut être monté sur les sections de rail de manière à combler l'espace. Un élément de fixation inférieur peut être inséré sous chaque section de rail et maintenu en place sur le canal au moyen de dispositifs de fixation. Des dispositifs de localisation latérale sont fournis pour empêcher le canal de bouger vers l'intérieur de la voie. Des dispositifs de localisation longitudinale sont fournis; ceux-ci interagissent avec le canal et les extrémités de l'espace entre les sections de rail pour empêcher la pièce de jointoiement de se déplacer longitudinalement.
