A rail fastener comprising a shoulder, a rail pad, an insulator and a clip in such a way as to be provided with a very high toe load capacity, whereby a wide range of toe loads can be obtained to fit a variety of track requirements by changing the thickness of the clip material. Low operating stresses, a low clip bearing stress over the insulator, a high resistance to lateral shear and pull out force due to the shoulder design are some of the advantages provided by the present rail fastener
