ABSTRACT A rail lubricant delivery assembly, for applying lubricant to the flange of a railroad car wheel riding on the head of a rail having also a base and a web, clamps to the rail without the need for bolts or bolt holes extending through the web. The assembly includes a delivery bar adapted to engage the rail below the head, the bar having a milled face with channels formed therein. A cover plate affixed directly to the face of the delivery bar encloses the channels to form lubricant passages. The delivery bar face and the cover plate form a metal-to-metal seal which eliminates the need for any polymer seals.
