A pad, suitable for spacing the bottom of a railway rail from a rail foundation on which the rail stands, comprises a plate-like rail-supporting portion (1) and softer, resiliently-deformable, sealing means (3), which sealing means (3) are bonded to the rail-supporting portion (1) at a peripheral region thereof and are such that, when the pad is placed on a rail foundation and a rail is placed on the rail-supporting portion (1) of the pad, those means (3) deform under the weight of the rail so as to form a substantially watertight seal around the said peripheral region of the rail-supporting portion (1).
Semelle adaptée pour l'espacement d'un fond de rail de chemin de fer et d'une base sur laquelle s'appuie le rail. Elle comprend un segment de support de rail de type plaque (1) ainsi que des éléments (3) de joint déformables de façon résiliente et plus souples. Ces éléments (3) sont liés au segment de support de rail (1) dans une région en périphérie de celle-ci. Lorsque la semelle est placée sur une base de rail et un rail est placé sur le segment de support de rail (1) de la semelle, les éléments (3) se déforment sous le poids du rail afin de former un joint essentiellement étanche autour de la région périphérique du segment (1) de support de rail.
