RAILROAD CROSSING WARNING SYSTEM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A railroad crossing warning system for use at an uncontrolled railcrossing intersection between a road for vehicles and a rail line for trains comprises a first reflective object positioned at the road side on the side of the track adjacent to an oncoming vehicle and a second reflective object positioned at the roadside on the opposed side of the track relative to the oncoming vehicle. The objects are positioned along two separate sight lines so as to appear as separate distinct objects as the vehicle approaches. In the presence of a train one of the objects is obscured and the driver is educated to know that upon viewing only a single such reflective object when approaching a rail crossing, the second object is obscured most probably by the presence of a train not yet visible on the crossing.
