A supporting truss for use in a railroad cantilever signal structure, in which the cantilever signal structure has an elongated vertical mast that is secured to the ground at one end and has an arm assembly extending outward from the mast at an opposite end. The truss has an upper longitudinal beam that is secured at one end to and extends outward substantially perpendicular from the mast. The truss also has first and second lower longitudinal beams that extend outward from and are secured at respective first ends to the mast. The first and second longitudinal beams are spacedly positioned below the upper longitudinal beam, and are parallel to one another and are perpendicular to the mast. The truss further has a plurality of transverse support beams that are each affixed at one end to the first lower longitudinal beam and at an opposite end to the second lower longitudinal beam. Further, the truss has a plurality of connecting beams are that are each affixed at one end to the upper longitudinal beam and at an opposite end to a respective transverse support beam.
