ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Railroad car having a well adapted for alternatively carrying either one standard container or plural, fractional-length, standard containers. Bracing is provided to support each end of each container, whether one or plural containers are carried. The railroad car also has means for accommodating a load narrower than the normal well width or shorter than the normal well length while maintaining proper centering and preventing shifting of the load.
