A hand brake lever (90) for use on a truck mounted type railway car brake system (20) includes a first elongated portion (40) which is horizontally disposed when the hand brake lever is installed in such car brake system and a second elongated portion (100) which is connected to first elongated portion and which is disposed in a generally vertical direction and at a predetermined angle so that a second end (104) of the second elongated portion is spaced at a predetermined distance from such truck bolster (14) when the hand brake lever is installed in such system. A plurality of apertures (39,57,72,78) are formed through the first elongated portion for connecting the hand brake lever to each of a brake actuator (70), a brake beam (22), a slack adjuster trigger mechanism (68), and a slack. adjuster mechanism (50). An aperture (106) is formed through the second elongated portion for connecting hand brake chain thereto.
Levier de frein à main pour utilisation sur un système de frein de voiture ferroviaire du type montée sur wagon comprenant une première partie allongée qui est disposée horizontalement, lorsque le levier de frein à main est installé dans un tel système de frein de voiture, et une seconde partie allongée qui est reliée à la première partie allongée et qui est disposée dans une direction sensiblement verticale et selon un angle prédéterminé afin qu'une seconde extrémité de la seconde partie allongée soit espacée d'une distance prédéterminée d'un tel coussinet de wagon lorsque le levier de frein à main est installé dans un tel système. Une pluralité d'ouverture est formée à travers la première partie allongée pour relier le levier de frein à main à un actionneur de frein, un faisceau de frein, un mécanisme de déclenchement d'un régleur de jeu et un mécanisme de régleur de jeu. Une ouverture est formée au travers de la seconde partie allongée pour y relier une chaîne de frein à main.
