A wagon has hoppers 40,42 extending along its longitudinal axis 44 with doors 80,82 operated by opening lever 46 and closing lever 48 fixed to the opposite ends of a shaft 50 substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 44. Levers 46,48 carry wheels 47 and 49 respectively to engage an associated trackside cam for opening or closing the door(s) 80,82. A driving arrangement 52 located approximately between the hoppers 40,42 converts the rotation of the transverse shaft 50 into rotation of the longitudinal shaft 54 which runs substantially along the centreline 44. The driving arrangement 52 in one embodiment comprises bevel gears 56,58 on the respective shafts 50,54. The doors may open outward or inward of the centreline. For opening, the driving arrangement may be assisted by or replaced by the action of a flipper arm fixed to the transverse shaft engaging the linkage.

Les leviers (46, 48) entraînent les roues (47, 49) respectivement pour engager une came latérale associée permettant d'ouvrir ou de fermer les portes (80, 82). Un dispositif de commande (52), situé plus ou moins entre les trémies (40, 42), fait en sorte que la rotation de l'arbre transversal (50) passe à une rotation de l'arbre longitudinal (54) effectuant une course essentiellement le long de la ligne médiane (44). Le dispositif de commande (52), selon un modèle de l'invention, comprend des roues coniques (56, 58) sur les arbres respectifs (50, 54). Les portes peuvent s'ouvrir vers l'extérieur ou l'intérieur de la ligne médiane. Pour l'ouverture, le dispositif de commande peut être assisté d'un bras basculant, ou remplacé par ce dernier, qui est fixé à l'arbre transversal engageant la liaison mécanique.
