- 20 - RAIN GUTTER ASSEMBLY ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Conventional rain gutters collect leaves and other debris which reduce the efficiency of the eavestro- ugh action. The present device includes a ponding trough to initially receive the run-off from the roof which then overflows through a front toothed or serrated edge onto a horizontally rippled waterfall surface terminating in a downwardly and inwardly curved surface which is followed by the water sheet and deposited into a conventional eavestrough. The foremost point of the curved surface extends slightly beyond the front wall of the eavestrough so that debris such as leaves, twigs and the like are deposited clear of the eavestrough while the water follows the curved surface and then falls into the eavestrough. Furthermore, the open upper side of the eavestrough is protected from receiving wind blown debris such as leaves, twigs and the like.
