A ramp, plunge and feed milling cutter (100) having a cylindrical body (105) with cutting ribs (125) protruding beyond the length of the cylindrical body (105) to define a cavity (145). The integral single-piece construction of the milling cutter (100) permits the fabrication of small diameter plunge milling cutters having sufficient strength in the cutting rib (125) adjacent the cavity (145) to withstand the forces of a machining operation.
