The invention relates to Raney nickel catalysts obtained by allowing the melt of an alloy consisting of 50 to 95 wt. % aluminium, 10 to 50 wt. % nickel, 0 to 20 wt. % iron, 0 to 15 wt. % cerium, cerium misch metal, vanadium, niobium, tantalum, chromium, molybdenum or manganese and optionally, other glass- forming elements with a cooling rate of > 104 K/s to harden rapidly, and then subjecting the rapidly hardened alloy to a treatment with organic or inorganic bases. The invention also relates to a method for producing the inventive Raney nickel catalyst and to its use in the hydrogenation of organic compounds, especially aromatic nitro compounds.

L'invention concerne des catalyseurs au nickel de Raney s'obtenant en laissant durcir rapidement la matière en fusion d'un alliage constitué de 50 à 95 % en poids d'aluminium, 10 à 50 % en poids de nickel, 0 à 20 % en poids de fer, 0 à 15 % en poids de cérium, cérium-mischmétal, vanadium, niobium, tantale, chrome, molybdène ou manganèse et éventuellement d'autres éléments vitrifiants, avec une vitesse de refroidissement > 10?4¿ K/s, puis en soumettant l'alliage durci rapidement à un traitement avec des bases organiques ou inorganiques. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour produire ledit catalyseur, ainsi que son utilisation pour l'hydrogénation de composés organiques, notamment de composés nitro aromatiques.
