The present invention provides an orthosis (10), for stretching tissue around a joint of a patient between first and second relatively pivotable body portion. The orthosis (10), includes a first arm member (12), affixable to the first body portion and including a first extension member (18), extending therefrom. A second arm member (14), affixable to the second body portion is also included and has a second extension member (20), having an arcuate shape extending therefrom. The second extension member is operatively connected to the first extension member and travels through the first extension member along an arcuate path when the second arm member is moved form a first position to a second position relative to the first arm member.

La présente invention concerne une orthèse permettant d'étirer un tissu entourant l'articulation entre une première et une seconde partie relativement pivotables du corps d'un patient. L'orthèse comporte un premier élément de bras pouvant être fixé sur la première partie de corps, muni d'un premier élément d'extension s'étendant à partir de celui-ci. Un second élément de bras pouvant être fixé sur la seconde partie de corps est également compris, muni d'un second élément d'extension de forme arquée s'étendant à partir de celui-ci. Le second élément d'extension est relié de manière opérationnelle au premier élément d'extension, et se déplace à travers le premier élément d'extension le long d'un trajet arqué lorsque le second élément de bras passe d'une première position à une seconde position par rapport au premier élément de bras.
