ABSTRACT RAPAMYCIN ANALOGS AS IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS AND ANTIFUNGALS Reduction of rapamycin at position 33 removes a C-31/C-32 bond reverse aldol base decomposition pathway for rapamycin without destroying the immunosuppressant, antiinflammatory and antifungal properties. This reduction procedure may be combined with other reduction procedures to produce the 15, 33-dihydroxy and 15, 27, 33-trihydroxy analogs.
