A diagnostic test device contains a filter and detects antibodies having multiple antigen specificities from a blood sample for confirmatory testing of an infectious pathogen such as a microbe. The filter is an integral part of a strip and can be used for rapid strip-testing of whole blood and other particulate-containing solutions generally. Whole blood HIV tests are exemplified that are easy to carry out by untrained personnel and that can provide qualitative information about the subtype of an HIV. The multiple antigen testing capability is useful for confirmatory testing of other microbes such as syphilis and hepatitis C.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de test diagnostique contenant un filtre, et qui permet de détecter des anticorps possédant de multiples spécificités d'antigène à partir d'un échantillon de sang, ce dispositif étant utile pour mettre en oeuvre un test confirmant la présence d'un pathogène infectieux tel qu'un micro-organisme. Le filtre fait partie intégrante d'une bande, et peut être utilisé pour tester rapidement sur bande du sang entier et généralement d'autres solutions contenant des particules. Les tests de détection d'anticorps anti-VIH sur sang entier donnés en exemple sont faciles à effectuer par du personnel inexpérimenté, et peuvent fournir des informations qualitatives sur le sous-type d'un VIH. La capacité de tester de multiples antigènes est utile pour mettre en oeuvre des tests de confirmation d'autres micro-organismes tels que la syphilis et l'hépatite C.
