ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to an artificial sausage casing of regenerated cellulose having a substantially homogeneous coating composition applied over the internal surface thereof which has outstanding peelability from sausages processed therein, excellent handle, and resistance to breakage and to a process for making such artificial sausage casings. The coating applied over the internal surface of the artificial sausage casing is a substantially homogeneous admixture of a water-soluble cellulose ether and mixed mono and diglycerides of oleic acid having a capillary melting point not substantially higher than 130°F.
