24750-23 Abstract In rapid release locks for rescue systems with a release member which is rotatable relative to the lock housing and axially movable, this release member being in the form of a rotary handle on the circumference of which there is a rim extending in the axial direction of movement thereof and partially projecting over the side outer walls of the lock housing, there is the problem that the locks ice up under unfavourable conditions. Admittedly, it is still possible to perform the rotary movement required to release such locks, but it is frequently extremely difficult or even impossible to perform the subsequent axial movement of the release member counter to the layer of ice formed. The aim is therefore to solve this problem. According to the invention, therefore, the rim of the rotary handle is provided, in the circumferential direction, with an end face which is at least partially not parallel to the plane of rotation.
