RAPID-REMOVAL PLATFORM FOR DRILLING HYDROCARBON DEPOSITS AND FOR THE PRODUCTION AND STORAGE OF HYDROCARBON IN ARCTIC SEAS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A drilling platform adapted to operate in seas where icebergs and icefields are frequently experienced is disclosed, said platform essentially comprising a disc- shaped baseplate ballasted by water-chambers and an upper structure which adheres to the baseplate by a vacuum effect, so that, when danger of collision with floating ice forma- tions is impending, it becomes possible to separate the base plate form the upper structure and to remove the upper structure rapidly under hazardous conditions.
