Disclosed is an orally disintegrating tablet comprising a pharmacologically active substance, a modified starch having a degree of gelatinization of 30 to 60%, and a saccharide. Also disclosed is a process for producing an orally disintegrating tablet, which comprises the steps of mixing a pharmacologically active substance, a modified starch having a degree of gelatinization of 30 to 60% and a saccharide with one another and then shaping the mixture into a tablet. The orally disintegrating tablet can show rapidly disintegrating ability, solubility and proper hardness in an oral cavity without the need of using any specialized excipient, apparatus or the like.
