A wet shaving head in- cludes parts (6, 7) that de- fine a cutting plane, a leading blade (2) mounted at an an- gle that is optimum for lift- ing before substantially cut- ting through the hair, and a trailing blade (3) mounted at an angle that is optimum for cutting a lifted hair with- out substantially further lift- ing it. The blades (2, 3) are arranged so that the trailing blade (3) begins to cut the hair before the leading blade (2) completes its cutting action on the lifted hair. The trailing blade (3) has its cutting edge mounted close to the cutting plane and the leading blade (2) has its cutting edge mounted at the same or greater distance from the cutting plane.
