A re-useable soft form for the concrete slab of a composite action, concrete on cold-formed steel floor, uses commonly available materials, and requires no special components or equipment. The form is comprised of standard plywood sheets and short length 2 × 4 lumber. Only minor steel components are involved. The soft form is fast and simple to build and has dependable strength characteristics for the support of both dead and live loads. The soffit form may be built entirely piece-by-piece "in-situ" on the installed steel channels which function both as part of the soffit farm and permanently as the steel component of the composite action floor. Alternately, modules consisting of two steel channels and the soffit form between them may be pre-assembled and positioned by mechanical equipment, thereby leaving only 50% of the soffit form to be built in-situ. The form stripping procedure is fast, simple, and extraordinarily safe.
