An immunoagglutination reagent comprising the carrier liposomes covalently immobilizing an antigen or an antibody to assay an antibody or an antigen on the basis of the agglutination level is provided, which is characterized in that assaying can be done at a high sensitivity in a region of short wave length where the change in turbidity caused by the agglutination can be measured in an enhanced fashion. Liposomes are used as the carrier of the reagent for immunoagglutination. An antibody or an antigen is immobilized onto the surface of the liposome, and a water-soluble compound or a gelled compound is entrapped in the liposomes. The substance entrapped in the immunoagglutination reagent enhances the change in turbidity via the agglutination caused by the antigen-antibody reaction.
