ABSTRACT The present invention provides a reagent for the precipitation of apo-B-containing lipoproteins, wherein it comprises 0.2 to 3 g./litre phosphotungstic acid and more than 2 mmol/litre magnesium ions in aqueous solution. The present invention also provides a process for the preparation of this reagent and a process for the precipitation of apo-B-containing lipoproteins using this reagent.
