ABSTRACT Reagent kit comprising at least one protein preparation selected from the group consisting of HPASP preparation and antiHPASP-antibody preparation, and the use of said kit for forming (HPASP - antiHPASP) immune complex. The invention furthermore comprises a pancreatitis diagnostic process employing HPASP as a marker. HPASP is a human protein specific for pancreas having a pI of 6,9 and a molecular weight of 44,500 dalton (+5 %). The protein can be isolated from human pancreas cytosol.
