The present invention relates to a system and method for real-time delivery of medical tests and related data from laboratories (12) or similar sources (18) to portable communication devices such as mobile phones (14), text-enabled pagers (14) and web-enabled personal digital assistance (PDA's) (14) and other WAP devices (14). The subject system enables physicians to access test results remotely as soon as they become available. Also, the system allows the physician to develop an electronic prescription and submit the electronic prescription to a pharmacy using the portable communications device (14).
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé permettant de remettre en temps réel des tests médicaux et des données correspondantes transmis par des laboratoires (12) ou des sources semblables (18) à des dispositifs de communication portatifs tels que des téléphones mobiles (14), des radiomessageurs textuels (14), des agendas numériques basés sur Internet (14) et d'autres dispositifs WAP (14). Grâce à ce système, les médecins peuvent accéder à distance aux résultats des tests dès que ceux-ci sont disponibles. Par ailleurs, ce système permet aux médecins de rédiger une ordonnance électronique et de la transmettre à une pharmacie au moyen desdits dispositifs de communication portatifs (14).
