A system for radiation therapy including a radiation planning system, wherein the radiation planning system com-prises a parallel processor adapted to receive input information concerning a body having an intended radiation treatment region and to output information for providing radiation treatment to the intended radiation treatment region of the body, wherein the parallel processor is adapted to perform a plurality of reverse ray tracing calculations based on the input information concerning the body in determining the output information for providing radiation treatment, each of the plurality of reverse ray tracing calcu-lations comprising: calculating a first physical property corresponding to a first sub-region of the intended radiation treatment re-gion of the body that is intersected by a ray traced between a source position and the intended radiation treatment region; and calculating, subsequent to the first-mentioned calculating, a second physical property corresponding to a second sub-region of the in-tended radiation treatment region that is intersected by the ray at a location closer to the source position than is the first sub-re-gion.
Linvention concerne un système pour la radiothérapie comprenant un système de planification de rayonnement, le système de planification de rayonnement comprenant un processeur parallèle conçu pour recevoir des informations dentrée concernant un corps ayant une région de traitement par rayonnement prévue et pour fournir des informations pour fournir un traitement par rayonnement à la région de traitement par rayonnement prévue du corps, le processeur parallèle étant conçu pour réaliser une pluralité de calculs de lancée de rayon inverse basés sur les informations dentrée concernant le corps en déterminant les informations de sortie pour fournir un traitement par rayonnement, chacun de la pluralité de calculs de lancée de rayon inverse comprenant : le calcul dune première propriété physique correspondant à une première sous-région de la région de traitement par rayonnement prévue du corps qui est coupée par un rayonnement lancé entre une position source et la région de traitement par rayonnement prévue ; et le calcul, faisant suite au premier calcul, dune seconde propriété physique correspondant à une seconde sous-région de la région de traitement par rayonnement prévue qui est coupée par le rayon à un emplacement plus proche de la position source que ne lest la première sous-région.
